The Spires 5-aside Divisional Qualifiers lived up to its promise of excitement and intensity, as Ikeja’s finest football teams battled it out in a series of high-scoring encounters.
The knockout rounds, which began on April 19th, showcased the immense talent in the Ikeja Division, with young players making their mark and producing some spectacular goals.
The first match saw Wasola FC face off against African Future Stars FC in an exhilarating contest. In a thrilling 10-goal spectacle, Wasola FC emerged victorious, claiming a 6-3 win in a match that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Next, Soccer Gem FC, led by their captain Milo, squared off against Useful Youth SA in another gripping encounter. Soccer Gem dominated, securing a 6-2 victory, with Milo bagging a hat-trick to lead his side to a commanding win.
The next day featured Ballers FA against Amsterdam FA. In a tightly contested match, Amsterdam FA proved too strong, securing a 6-3 victory to advance to the next round.
The final game of the knockout phase delivered the most goals of the day, as Blood and Sand showed their clinical finishing in an 8-3 rout of Devinely Blessed FC. Blood and Sand’s attacking prowess left no doubt as they cruised to a comprehensive win.
With the knockout phase concluded, the stage is now set for the semi-finals, which will take place on April 23, 2025, at the EL Cesped pitch, located on Victoria Odeniran Street, Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.
