President Fed Cup : NNL Chairman, Aluo congratulates Abakiliki FC for booking semi- final ticket
Chairman of Nigeria National League ( NNL), Mr. George Aluo has congratulated NNL side Abakiliki FC for booking a semi- final ticket in this year’s President Federation Cup
The team which surprised many football fans when they defeated two time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba FC of Aba 2-0 in the round of 16 again on Saturday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin proved book makers wrong when they beat another NPFL side Nasarawa United 6-5 penalties after their game ended 1-1 at regulation time to qualify for the semi- finals of the prestigious tournament.
Speaking on the victory, Aluo stated that the performance displayed by the team in the competition shows the quality of the second tier league.

” Their victory over Enyimba FC in the round of 16 and Nasarawa United in the quarter- finals shows the quality of the NNL League and we’ll continue to raise the bar towards ensuring that we give Nigerians a league they’ll be proud of.
Aluo also reminded Nigerians that Ikorodu Utd which Abakiliki FC will meet in the semi- finals is another product of NNL and as such the league deserves kudos for the various transformations it has carried out in the last two seasons towards making it one of the best second tier leagues in the continent.

He charged Abakaliki DC to go all out against their next opponent in order to book a final ticket in the competition even as he assured the team that the NNL board is solidly behind them.
