Lagos FA Commiserate With Kano Govt, Over Dead Athletes

The Lagos State Football Association has released a message of condolence, commiserating with Kano State government over the unfortunate road accident that claimed the lives of over 21 athletes, officials and journalists, who were on their way back to Kano after participating in the just concluded National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
In the message, the Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Liameed described the incident as shocking and saddening.
“Lagos FA joins the whole Nigeria and particularly, the sports community, to mourn the tragic deaths of those athletes. It’s unfortunate and very painful.
“On behalf of the board members and of course, the sports loving people of Lagos, State, we pray that Allah Almighty grant the souls of the departed rest and Aljana Firdaus.
“May God also give the families and friends of the deceased the strength and fortitude to bear their losses,” he prayed.
