Gusau To Attend NNL/Prostar/Sportslight Hub Awards

..As Awards Time Is Shifted

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has confirmed his attendance at the NNL/Prostar/Sportslight Hub Monthly Awards, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

His presence underscores the growing significance of the monthly awards ceremony aimed at celebrating excellence in Nigeria’s second-tier football league.

Gusau, who is currently outside the country attending a FIFA Executive Football Summit 2025 in Florida ,USA, made the announcement in a statement, saying,

“I would be personally present to witness the awards as a way to show my support for the efforts of the NNL.”

Gusau’s confirmation is seen as a major boost for the Nigeria National League (NNL), which has been working diligently to reposition itself as a credible and competitive platform for domestic football development.

Also expected at the event is the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi (MFR), who will join other high-profile dignitaries to grace the occasion.

Football fans will also be thrilled by the presence of former international stars, including Sunday Mba, the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hero whose goal sealed Nigeria’s continental victory, and Femi Ajilore, a 2008 Olympic Silver Medalist and former Super Eagles midfielder.

Both ex-players have confirmed their attendance, further adding prestige and glamour to the event.

In a related development, the time for the awards ceremony has been rescheduled. Originally slated for 11:00 a.m., the event will now commence at 2:00 p.m. on the same day, Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Viewpoint Hotel, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja.

Organizers say the time shift is to allow for the smooth arrival of special guests and ensure broader participation.

The NNL/Prostar/Sportslight Hub Monthly Awards have gained growing acclaim in the Nigerian football space, serving as a key platform to recognize and reward outstanding performances by players, coaches, referees, and teams across the Nigeria National League.
