Group Commends President Tinubu on Appointment of Tomi Somefun as HYPADDEC Boss

The Coalition of Civil Societies Groups has commended and appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the appointment of Mrs. Tomi Somefun as the Managing Director of Hydro Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPADDEC), describing the appointment as a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to excellence, merit, and women empowerment.

A Press release issued and signed by the Secretary General of the group, Ekundina Segun Elvis described Mrs. Tomi Somefun as a highly qualified and experienced professional who possesses the necessary skills and expertise to take HYPADDEC to the next level, stressing that her appointment is a clear indication that President Tinubu is dedicated to putting the right peg in the right hole.

”Irrespective of the ongoing opposition against her appointment which is well deserved on merit and not ethnic profiling by some organizations particularly NANS and North Central Youth Forum who are opposed to her appointment because She’s not from the North Central Region are acting only based on ignorance and the workings of Mr. President,” the statement reads in part.

The group however called on such groups to desist on spreading undeserving news about the appointee in order to ridicule the good intentions of Mr. President, claiming that “as a woman, we believe in the strong conviction that she will act better and in the best interest of the Nigerian people.”

They however, called on everybody including development partners in the power sector to synergies and work with her by supporting her to ensure that the Nigerian Hydro Power Project take its full course for the benefit of Nigeria Citizens.

“We are confident that under Mrs. Somefun’s leadership, HYPADDEC will experience unprecedented growth and development. We also believe that her expertise and experience will bring about positive change and transformation to the organization”, concludes the statement.
