2027: Rebuild Imo Movement will wipe tears off Imolites- Ogbonna

As the political build up for 2027 governorship election in Imo State continues to be a front burner in the political discussions of the State, Barr. Chuks Ogbonna has been emphatic on the strategic preparations of Rebuild Imo Movement political organization of His Excellency, Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of African Democratic Congress, ADC to weep out the tears of Imolites by regaining power and giving them, what he described as purposeful leadership and good governance.

Ogbonna who’s London based Rebuild Imo Movement Diasporan Coordinator, disclosed this on Friday while answering questions from Journalists at the State Secretariat of the organization along Port Harcourt Road, Owerri shortly after the well attended 59th birthday celebration of Sir Gerald Irona, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Imo State and one of the arrowheads of the movement.

The Onicha Uboma in Ihitte Uboma local government area of Imo State born astute politician applauded Irona for his humility and loyalty while also describing him, as a tested ally of Ihedioha with visionary leadership acumen.

He lauded the achievements of the short-lived Ihedioha/Irona, Rebuild Imo administration, describing the 7 months Supreme Court botched tenure as,“unmatched in vision and impactfulness”, noting the truncation as unfortunate and detrimental to democratic growth.

Ogbonna called on the people of Imo to work towards restoring the Ihedioha/Irona leadership in 2027, reassuring of their commitments in restoring security of lives and properties, infrastructural developments and transformations, as well as job creations and empowerments in the State.

Dr.Vin Udokwu, popularly known as Anaefobi, one time Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Health during Ihedioha led administration and the Director General of Rebuild Imo Movement, expressed optimism that the group has the faith and they’re working hard to ensure they returned to power in 2028 anchoring their ambition in God and goodwill of the people.

Udokwu described the birthday celebrant, Irona as a trusted personality as well as a committed, dedicated and loyal party faithful, even as he wished him long life, good health and prosperity with peace of mind.

He lambasted the APC Led government in the State and Federal for allegedly unleashing hardship, hunger and bad economy to the people.

The political czar enjoined Nigerians to have hope and believe in the tenets of African Democratic Congress, ADC noting that the party is coming to give the nation, the needed positive change that the people are clamouring for.

Earlier, Barr. Julius Onyenucheya, an apex leader of the Movement and one time, Chairman of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC described the celebrant as a political technocrat and a special gift to his generation and humanity at large.

Onyenucheya, one time Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA expressed satisfaction for the unity of purpose and brotherly love existing between members of the Movement, describing Ihedioha, as the man that knows the road with implicit love, patriotism, confidence, transparency and integrity.

The legal luminary reiterated that the political party, ADC has emerged as a credible platform to heal Nigeria from years of hardship, poverty, and insecurity, just as he advised Nigerians to give the political party their massive support, for their reformed and welfare oriented vision and mission.

Adding his voice, Sir Chijioke Uchegbu, who inadvertently represented the celebrant as the younger brother, and also the Coordinator of Rebuild Imo Movement, Oguta LGA, as well as the Assistant Secretary of the organization in Orlu Senatorial Zone, expressed satisfaction over the historic ceremony and turn out of quality personalities.

Uchegbu described the celebrant as “trusted man of the people, consequential leader, a mentor, obia ozuma, saying onye ji ya ji madu”.

He prayed for God’s abundant blessings and grace to be upon his life and family, insisting that he’s also a man endowned with the spirit of inclusiveness and good governance.

The highlights of the event includes; cutting of 5 steps well decorated birthday cake, sumptuous entertainment and presentation of gifts from individuals and groups.

Many political dignitaries, especially chieftains of Rebuild Imo Movement and stakeholders of ADC including, the South East National Chairman, Sir Bon Unachukwu, Rt. Hon. Oliver Enwerenem, Chief Richmond Osuji, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha’s Media Aide, Comrade Ori Martin, and many others attended the event.
