FUTO Alumni homecoming 2025 to commence with Exclusive Tour of Institution’s High- Impact Research And Ideas Ready For The World

The second edition of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) Alumni Homecoming and Convention is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
The Day 1 event will begin with an exclusive tour of the FUTO’s High-Impact Research And Ideas Ready For The World. This event will be hosted by the ACE-FUELS, an innovative research and development domiciled at FUTO which is the African Centre of Excellence in Future Energies and Electrochemical system.
During the tour, participants will have the opportunity to explore research ideas and engage in conversations that could lead to commercialization. Two major activities will take place at the ACE-FUELS Complex: the FUTO Innovation Showcase and the FUTO AI Experience Centre Launch by SATH. These programs aim to promote innovation and technological advancement.
A key highlight of the Thursday, August 14th event is a student mentorship conference focused on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and startup culture. Engr. Rex Mafiana, CEO of Flexip Group, will lead the conference, followed by insights from a panel of industry experts.
The panel includes Engr. Chris Amakulo, Director of Shipping Development at NIMASA; McDonald Ofurum, CEO of Misa Ltd; Dr. Kennedy Nnadi, CEO of Pennek Nigeria; Engr. Martina Atuchi, CEO of Energy East Global Services Ltd; and Damian Attah, Vice President of Infrastructure Bank Plc.
This conference promises to provide valuable guidance and networking opportunities for students and young professionals.
