Vipers Jos, Air Force Earn Important Wins on Day 5 of National Division One Handball League

Vipers Jos battled to a hard-fought 24–21 victory over U&H Abia on Wednesday in one of the standout fixtures of Day 5 at the ongoing National Division One Handball League 2025 in Umuahia, Abia State. 

The match was closely contested from the start, with Vipers holding a slim 11–10 lead at halftime before holding off the spirited home side in the final stretch in what pundits described as one of the most interesting matches in the National Division One League 2025

In other men’s category games, Bayelsa United defeated Cannan Tigers 19–13 after taking an 8–9 halftime lead, while Suleja Shooters defeated Mindscope 27–20, overturning a 12–8 deficit at the break. 

Air Force, on their part, recorded the biggest win of the day, overpowering Edo Dynamos 42–25 in a one-sided encounter.

In the women’s category, Girl Child Academy produced a commanding performance to dispatch Air Force Babes 33–17 after going into halftime with a 15–8 advantage.

Soof Handball Club also maintained their impressive run, beating Mindscope 43–23 in a match they dominated from the first whistle, leading 19–10 at the break.

The National Division One League continues on Wednesday with the semi final matches to be played as the competition draws near to the end
