Remo Stars are through to the second preliminary round of this year’s CAF Champions League after eliminating
Ziimadjou of Indian Ocean Island nation of Comoros 5-0 aggregate, Friday evening in Abeokuta.
With this result, the Nigerian champions will now face South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the second round of the preliminaries
The game with the former CAF Champions is expected to give the Nigerian champions more challenge difference from the first preliminary game where they defeated Ziimadjou by I-0 away before rapping it up with a 4-0 spanking in the return leg in Ibadan but it’s expected that their resilience and determination will see them through the South African challenge.
In that match, Coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s men will be aiming to create history by advancing further in the money spinning championship and break the jinx that has held Nigerian teams down for many years in their attempt to go beyond the preliminary stage of the continents biggest club football competition.
