NBB of C President, Secretary, Others Storm Enugu For professional boxing

President of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control ( NBB of C), Dr. Rafiu, Oladipo, the Secretary General, Remi Aboderin and other board members are now in Enugu, the Enugu State Capital for today’s professional boxing taking at the Parliament building.

The four bouts according to the sanctioning body was carefully selected inorder to fully entertain residents of the coal city state as well as make fans have a fun filled night throughout the duration of the fights

Speaking on the fights, President of NBB of C. Dr Rafiu Oladipo said it was part of the sanctioning body’s plan to take professional boxing to all parts of the country noting that fans will fully enjoy the bouts throughout the night.

“We’ re already in Enugu ahead of today’s explosive fights which is part of our plan to take professional boxing to all the nooks and crannies of the country.
” You’re aware that since the present board assumed office, we’ve been organizing fights on regular basis which has enabled some of the country’s boxers to be ranked by the various continental and world boxing bodies and we’ll continue to take the sports to many parts of the country

In his remarks, Secretary General of NBB of C who also doubles as President of West African Boxing Union (WABU) expressed confidence that today’s fight tagged ‘ Rumble in Enugu Boxing’ in will open the floodgate for more professional fights not only in Enugu State but the whole South East, a region he said has produced many talented boxers for the country.

He listed some of the boxers to feature in today’s fight as; Chinaza Ikechukwu Okoronkwo A K.A The Emperor, a graduate of Computer Science & Mathematics, Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu, Oche Adegen, Zoe Chibuike Okoronkwo ( The King Priest), a 400 level Law student of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu and Kumazi Daniel J.

Others are; Israel Obinna Ogbodu, Alias Izzy Money, an ICT expert and Okeke Tochukwu, a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

Promoter of the fight, Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, a former Nigerian International Amateur Boxer, who represented Nigerian at several international meets explained that he’s promoting the fights inorder to give talented boxers in the state the opportunity to showcase their talents and become future world champions

He commended the NBB of C for sanctioning the fights noting that this is just the beginning of more professional fights to be stage in the South East.
