Olukoya To Receive African Wrestling Ambassador Award In Belgium

..As Actu Fight Belgium set to partner with Pro- Wrestling Africa in 2026

The Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa who also doubles as President Allied Independent Wrestling Federations – Africa ( AIWF), Olusesan Olukoya will have another feather added to his cap when he will be bestowed with African Wrestling Ambassador award.

The ceremony which will be held in the third week of January, 2026 in Brussels, the Belgian Capital will be bestowed on him by Actu Fight Belgium, an arm of the Wanderer Kombat Federation.

According to the President the body which is a media platform based in Brussels, the Belgian Capital, Herbots Didier, known round the wrestling world as Thierry Rhodan, the award to be presented in absentia is in recognition of Olukoya’s contributions to the development of professional wrestling in Africa.

Olukoya who is well known in wrestling circles across the continent and beyond and well fitted for the ambassadorial position, is a Nigerian sports executive, professional wrestling promoter, and an international sports advocate.

He is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in African professional wrestling and a leading voice in building bridges between African and global wrestling communities.

He has been been deeply involved in African professional wrestling promotion for close to 40 years, having started his engagement in 1988.
He’s a professional wrestling promoter, manager, columnist, publisher, historian, crusader, and activist; these roles reflect his multifaceted contributions to professional wrestling on the continent.

In the course of taking the sports to another level in the continent, he has travelled across almost all African countries that have semblance of professional wrestling activities, as well as to Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium, Norway, UAE, India and the USA, to build bridges and promote African pro wrestling.

It would be recalled that he single-handedly introduced pro wrestling to Benin Republic in 2023, Togo and Ghana in 2024, ran trainings with them and has promoted the sport in Cameroon severally and featured international talents in that Central African nation.

Presently, Olukoya runs Pro Wrestling Afrik Promotions Ltd., a registered sports company which he uses as the African link to broader global pro-wrestling world.

Apart from this, he’s the
Secretary General of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA),
Executive Director of Pro Wrestling Afrik Promotions Ltd, Chief Operating Officer of Golden Wrestling Federacy (GWF) based in Florida, USA.

He also holds the position of Director of Publicity & Promotions for the Nigeria Pro Wrestling Federation (NPWF), President of AIWF Africa (Allied Independent Wrestling Federations – Africa) and Chief Correspondent for WrestleMap.com in Africa.

A further look at his resume, shows that he won the African Promoter of the Year Award from Revue Du Catch Belge/Africain, particularly for his work with PWA in the year 2021, 2023 and 2024.

He was appointed COO of the Golden Wrestling Federacy (GWF) in Florida, giving him a major operational role in a US based wrestling body.

Further more, Olukoya received the Mike Bamidele Professional Wrestling Award for his contributions to African wrestling by the World Wrestling Academy, London, United Kingdom.

In December 2024, he got another international recognition in Belgium, awarded by promoter Thierry Rhodan for advancing pro wrestling across Africa.

In order to further expose Nigerian wrestler to the most modern technique of the game, he took a team of Nigerian wrestlers to Denmark in March 2024 and another set to Belgium in July 2024 when he formally entered into a working relationship agreement with Brussels Young Wrestling Styles (BYWS) under the umbrella body of the Belgium Pro Wrestling Federation (BPWF).
