
The former Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Mmaduabụrochukwu Obiano CFR has died in a London hospital where he has been receiving treatment for urinary Cancer.
Born in August, 18, 1955, he was a banker before joining politics and later served as Governor of Anambra State from 17 March 2014 to 17 March 2022, succeeding Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
He hails from Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area.
According to a senior family source, “His health had been declining in the past months, but the final collapse came suddenly. We are devastated but we’re consoled that he fought till the very last moment,”said the family member
