ECN Foundation Hosts Widows for Health and Food Distribution Outreach in Gwagwalada

The ECN Foundation at the weekend hosted widows from Gwagwalada and its environs at a Widows Health and Food Distribution Outreach aimed at supporting their wellbeing and livelihoods.

The event, which took place at the corporate office of ECN Global Ventures Limited in Gwagwalada, Abuja, saw beneficiaries receive food items and gift packs,

Speaking at the occasion, the Executive Director of ECN Global Ventures Limited, Patrick Ngwaogu (Odogwu), expressed appreciation to the widows for honouring the invitation.
He encouraged them to remain strong and committed to keeping their homes together despite the absence of their husbands. Ngwaogu noted that the initiative was designed to remind the women to always put their trust in God, assuring them that He would never abandon them in times of need.

Guest speaker, Mrs. Elizabeth Anuhi, used the opportunity to advise the widows on the importance of taking their health, nutrition, and personal hygiene seriously, stressing that good health is essential for sustaining their families and daily activities.

As part of the outreach, basic health screenings were conducted for the women, including blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, body mass index (BMI) and weight assessments, as well as brief medical consultations.
Food packs were also distributed to the beneficiaries to further support their needs.

The Widows Health and Food Distribution Outreach was widely commended by participants, who described it as timely and impactful, reinforcing ECN Foundation’s commitment to community support and social responsibility.
