Ikpokpo conferred with Obruthe of Ozoro title

Foremost political and community leader, Sir. Itiako Ikpokpo, has been conferred with the traditional chieftaincy title of Obruthe (Peacemaker) of Ozoro Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Anthony Uvietobore Ogbogbo, Ibuka I, the Ovie of Ozoro Kingdom.

The conferment ceremony, which took place on Saturday, December 27, was a major highlight of the three-day activities marking the Ozoro Kingdom Day celebration.

Sir. Ikpokpo, fondly known as Malik, is the Managing Director of Dunamis Group and the Clan Otota of Irri Kingdom.

A day earlier, on December 26, he had paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ovie of Ozoro Kingdom, accompanied by chiefs and associates.

During the visit, Sir. Ikpokpo congratulated the monarch and the people of Ozoro Kingdom on the successful hosting of Ozoro Day and expressed deep appreciation to His Royal Majesty for considering him worthy of the prestigious chieftaincy honour.

In his remarks, HRM Anthony Uvietobore Ogbogbo described Sir. Ikpokpo as a man of integrity and a long-standing, trusted friend of both the monarch and Ozoro Kingdom.

He explained that the decision to bestow the revered title was based on his exceptional leadership qualities and his consistent commitment to peace, unity and development in Ozoro Kingdom and the wider Isoko Nation.

The monarch further commended Sir. Ikpokpo’s notable contributions during and after his tenure as Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, stressing that his actions have continued to foster harmony and progress across the region.
