As the people of Ishi Ogwa autonomous community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State are advancing plans to select who becomes their next traditional ruler following the constitutional fulfillment of the mourning period of their late Royal Father, HRH Eze Barrister E.D.N Uwandu, it’s pertinent for the sons and daughters of Uwandu Family Dynasty to know why the cap fits,Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu.

It’s a popular Igbo adage that says, mmiri ahagi igbako nga ona agboko, Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu is the heir apparent of late legendary Prince Morgan Obi Uwandu, who’s globally associated with Ogwa centric, patriotism, charity, philanthropy, community leadership par excellence etc.

It’s on these premises, that many people have attested that his son, on whom he is well pleased, has as expected early in life, efficiently and effectively wore the big shoe, which his late father left behind.

Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu is the CEO of Ugo Morgan Inc. Limited and one time Imo State Chairman of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Nigeria.

A product of Emmanuel College, Owerri and Bsc Degree holder in Government and Public Administration of Imo State University, Owerri.

In 1993, he single handedly graded Nkwo Orodo -Idem road up to Afor Otusi Alaenyi Market, then from Ekeama Market – Oboro Umumaro, again in 2013, he personally donated 20 fairly used functional computer with printers to the autonomous community through the then President General, Prince Vincon Uwakwe-Uwandu just to help youths of the autonomous community be computer literate as well as be in tandem with the 21st century’s great expectations.

It’s also a historical truth that for years now, he has been instrumental in helping youths of the autonomous community to gain employment opportunities both in the private and public sectors as well as Federal and State’s government establishments such as Navy, Army, just to mention but a few

As a man passionate towards his community’s development and transformation, he has sacrificed his life, time and money in serving the community in several capacities even as the Chairman of PTA of Comprehensive Secondary School, Idem Ogwa, a position he happily used to uplift the development and transformation of the school in sustenance of his late father’s legacies at the school.

Obviously, Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu is a renowned patriot, committed to the overall development of the community, thus, he has equally made verifiable contributions in the infrastructural development and transformation of the churches in the community both the Anglican, Catholic and Pentecostal Churches.

It’s an obvious truth, that many youths, men and women of the community have benefitted so much from his philanthropic gestures tailored towards uplifting their businesses as well as their skills.

In the same manner, many young men of the community that are qualified and seek admission in various Universities within South East, Nigeria were freely offered admission out of his benevolence goodwill and committed interest to education.

Moreso, this man of grace, wisdom and intelligence in the recent past, donated a security office complex in his ancestral compound to the autonomous community’s security outfit.

It’s equally important to note that Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu, is a man driven with God’s abundant blessings, having being blessed with three successful and responsible children, two boys and a girl.

Honestly, Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu have seen life, optimally lived life and to God be the glory, he is agelessly enjoying God’s given good health with peace of mind and happiness.

Certainly, Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu is a man of implicit capacity, contacts, character, integrity and pedigree, even as a sociable soul, an Ambassador of Peace and social justice, he is highly supportive and accessible.

Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu have been the Chairman of Anyadike Kindred Meeting in which he initiated the rebuilding of their ancestral Obi. It’s equally part of the divine arrangements, that for years now, he has been entrusted as the Chairman, Okwaraji Concerned Citizens Home & Abroad, Chairman Board of Trustee of Uwandu Dynasty Forum as well as the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee.
These positions are no mean feat and he has performed creditably well.

Moreso, to demonstrate a rear patriotism, capacity and capability, in the forthcoming physical meeting of the family, he magnanimously made a donation of one million, five hundred thousand Naira for organization of the meeting and another five hundred thousand naira as a new year package to about 20 members of the prestigious family.

He has the wisdom, the intellectual prowess and the indomitable courage needed as a traditional ruler. Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu, is one man who has been privileged with wealth right from birth, but yet humble and dogged in entrepreneurship.

One thing outstanding with this man of implicit trust and confidence in God, despite the wealth legacies left by his late multi millionaire father, is that he has improved on it and unified the family with respect and humility.

It’s then, not a product of mistake, that friends and foes describe him as a goal getter, and as a man at home with his people.

Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu is a frontline member of Ogwa Stakeholders Forum, a member Ogwa Committee of Good Friends as well as Uwandu Dynasty Forum.

Yes indeed, it was the legendary Peter Tosh in one of his hit songs early 80s that said, ” he who the cap fits let him wear it “, it’s not only that the crown, as Royal Father, in custody of Ishi Ogwa autonomous community revered customs and traditions fits Prince Dr Obioha Morgan Uwandu, he has earned it at this point in time.

One thing very surprising and equally worrisome is that, despite these antecedents and clarion call by the people of good conscience, Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu seems not too desperate to accept the voice of the people.

However, one thing also standing as an odd against Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu ascending the throne of Ishi Ogwa traditional stool is the sagacious issue of who will be their Ugoeze.

Prince Dr. Obioha Morgan Uwandu has an answer to it, during one of his consultative interactions with some critical stakeholders, according to him, “the issue of who becomes my Ugoeze for my people, the gospel truth is that, when we get to the bridge we will definitely cross it. I am one optimistic person, that always believed that, whenever we get to the bridge, we will definitely cross it no matter the challenges.

“I have always believed that time will tell. If my people, in their willingness and magnanimity resolved to make me their king, they can be reassured that there’s a befitting Ugoeze happily waiting.

“Moreso, it will be very, very unthinkable that I will be thinking of ascending the sacred ancient throne of our ancestors without my beloved Ugoeze besides me” he assured.
