You will recall that Nigeria at the tail end of 2025, participated at African Archery Championship in Cote D’Ivoire where Nigeria was represented by only six Archers and won medals.
The appointees were advised to be focused and ensure that Archery develops beyond it’s present standard in the country.
The Federation in addition released its calendar of activities for the year 2026 which kick-starts this January with NAFED exco board meeting in Abuja to be followed by the Nimes Archery championship in France before the Annual General Meeting ( AGM ) which comes up in Abuja in March 2026 to be followed by NAFED National individual Championship in April and the Archery World Cup in Mexico among others to round off the first quarter of the 2026 NAFED programme of activities.
With the type of calendar drawn up this year, Nigeria Archers have a very busy year ahead of them with every month having a local or international championship.
President of NAFED, Mohammed Baba Abdullahi, in reaction said the loaded calendar, is aimed at keeping Nigerian Archers busy all the year round as well as cover the lost ground caused by those who are against Archery development in Nigeria.
