Heartland GM dismisses Katsina hotel ejection story as wicked

General Manager of Heartland FC, Ifeanyi Chukwudi has described as “wicked” the story that his team was ejected from their hotel in Katsina when they visited the city for their week one tie against Katsina United.

Chukwudi while reacting to the story in a chat with newstap.com.ng said he was taken aback when he read the story himself.

“Those who cooked up the story are to say the least wicked…Nothing, I repeat nothing like that happened. Recall that I told you that His Excellency the governor of Imo state gave us all we needed for the match before we left Owerri and I even commended the governor for going the extra mile of arranging security for us. The security around us was beefed up with the governor’s instruction, so I don’t know how some people starting coming up with the hotel story,” Chukwudi said.

The GM who said it was painful losing the game in Katsina by a narrow 2-3 margin urged supporters of the club to rally round the team as they play their first home game against Nasarawa United on Sunday.

He stressed that the management has charged the players and the coaches to put behind them the Katsina loss and focus on the all important first home game.

“We have shifted our focus to the game against Nasarawa United…we hope to put some smiles on the face of our fans in the new year,” Chukwudi stated.
