CAF condemns inappropriate behaviour in Sunday’s AFCON final

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has condemned what it described as “unacceptable behaviour” from players and officials in Sunday’s AFCON final.

CAF made it’s position known on Monday. There was chaos in the AFCON final when Senegal walked off the pitch in protest of a late penalty to Morocco. The Teranga Lions later returned to the pitch and Edouard Mendy saved Brahim Diaz’ spotkick.

“CAF strongly condemns any inappropriate behaviour which occurs during matches, especially those targeting the refereeing team or match organizers.

CAF is reviewing all footage and will refer the matter to competent bodies for appropriate action to be taken against those found guilty,” CAF.

Pape Gueye struck in extra time to give Senegal victory on Sunday in a game which was marred by controversies.
