The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to remove Ousmane Keïta, Head of its Disciplinary Committee, from all proceedings linked to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal.
The decision comes as CAF continues to review the controversial incidents that overshadowed the final, which Senegal won 1-0 after extra time.
The match was marked by on-field protests, tense exchanges, and scenes that sparked widespread debate across African football.
According to reports, Keïta, who is Senegalese was sidelined to avoid any perception of a conflict of interest and to ensure the disciplinary process remains transparent and credible.
CAF’s Kenyan Vice-President has now been appointed to oversee the case and guide the investigation forward.
