Heartland players depart for Jos without coach
.Accuse commissioner of withholding funds approved by Uzodimma

Heartland may end up prosecuting their week 3 NPFL match this weekend in Jos without their head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu.
Some players of the club who spoke exclusively to newstap.com.ng disclosed that they left Owerri today for Jos without their head coach Ilechukwu.
Ilechukwu according to the players insisted that he won’t leave Owerri if himself and his players are not paid their outstanding salaries.
“Coach stayed back to press for our money. They told us we would get alert before we arrive in Jos,” one of the players said.
Another who said they are fully in support of their coach said the problem with the club is the sports commissioner who the players accused of withholding the funds released by the governor, Hope Uzodimma.
“The governor has released money to the team but the commissioner is seating on it. We don’t understand why the commissioner wants to run the show especially when it comes to money,” one of the players said angrily.
It would be noted that Heartland lost their first two matches of the season against Katsina United and Nasarawa United, even as the players embarked on strike over the none payment of their salaries.
Newstap however gathered that Governor Uzodimma has since made funds available only for the sports commissioner to seat on it.
