Kun Khalifa FC Returns To NPFL Urge Fans To Turn Out en masse Against 3SC

Kun Khalifat FC has officially announced its return to the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) following successful and constructive discussions with the League Management Board.

The Owerri-based club had earlier withdrawn from the league after raising concerns over what it described as unfair treatment and disproportionate sanctions.

However, recent engagements between both parties have led to a positive resolution, paving the way for the club’s reinstatement into the league.

Speaking on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of Kun Khalifat FC, Michael Amaefula, expressed delight at the outcome of the talks, describing them as frank and productive.

“We are happy to put our differences behind us and focus once again on the beautiful game,” Amaefula said.

“We appreciate the League Management Board for its willingness to listen and address our concerns. Kun Khalifat FC looks forward to a more collaborative and productive relationship with the NPFL going forward.”

With the reinstatement confirmed, Kun Khalifat FC is set to resume its NPFL campaign immediately. The club will return to action this weekend with a highly anticipated fixture against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan. The match is scheduled for Sunday, 8 February 2026, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

The club has called on its supporters in Owerri and across the country to turn out in large numbers to cheer the team to victory.

“This is a crucial match for us,” the club stated. “We need the full backing of our fans to secure a positive result and kick-start this new chapter on a strong note.”

Kun Khalifat FC also acknowledged the patience, loyalty, and unwavering support of its fans during the challenging period away from the league, assuring them of the club’s commitment to delivering exciting and entertaining football.

“The people of Owerri can expect passion, commitment, and an unforgettable matchday experience,” the statement added.

Management of the club remains optimistic about a successful return to NPFL action and believes the energy and passion of the supporters will play a key role in driving the team forward.

Ticket information and further match details will be communicated in due course, as Kun Khalifat FC looks forward to welcoming fans back to the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday.
