I’ve contributed my quota to African Pro- wrestling development – Moagi Sharp
..Says he's not seeking re- election
Dr. Moagi Sharp is a prominent leader in African wrestling, serving as the President of the Botswana Wrestling Federation (BWF) and Pro -Wrestling Africa. He has been instrumental in growing the sport in Botswana, recently securing international standard rings and expanding local competitions, including women’s wrestling.
He contributed to no small measure in professional wrestling development in his capacity as the President of PWA, by playing a key role in expanding AIWF’s international reach, particularly into Africa and developing wrestling territories.
He was recognized for building relationships with independent promotions worldwide and support championship sanctioning, talent exchange, and Hall of Fame recognitions under the AIWF banner.
Dr. Moagi Sharp is often associated with efforts to unify independent wrestling promotions through structured affiliation systems, giving smaller promotions international credibility.
However, with elections slated for May, 2, this year in Nigeria, he has declared that he will not be standing for re- election as he has contributed his quota for the sports development and it’s better to quit when the ovation is high.
“I want to officially inform the PWA management that I will not be contesting for any position during the upcoming PWA elections. I am particularly grateful to the PWA family for the honour to serve them.
“I do believe that I have run my race and I have to give others the needed space to enable them to contribute their quotas as well” Moagi concluded.
According to Olusesan Olukoya, the Secretary General at the Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA), “Dr. Moagi Sharp who was nominated and became the President of PWA after the demise of “Super Makia” Jacob Mbeng Makia the first President of Pro- Wrestling Africa, is a pacesetter who indeed contributed his quota in no small measure to the growth and development of professional wrestling in Africa at large.
