New Telegraph Award : NSC DG Hon Olopade, a Propeller of Sports Development in Nigeria – Ambassador Ogunfuwa
National President, Football Fans Club of Nigeria, (FFCN), Ambassador Oluwakemi Ogunfuwa has described the Director-General, National Sports Commission (NSC), Honourable Bukola Olopade as a propelling Engine driving Sports development in Nigeria.
The former General Secretary of Nigerian Supporters Club stated this while addressing newsmen in Lagos shortly after the former Ogun State Sports Commissioner was named the Sport Administrator of the year by New Telegraph Newspaper.
The award ceremony, which took place on February 13, 2026, at the Grand Ballroom, Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, was designed to celebrate movers and shakers in Nigerian sports ecosystems and Olopade was part of the recipients of the prodigious awards
“It is no doubt that Hon Olopade is driving a new era of sports development, focusing on grassroots sports, modernizing facilities, and increasing Nigeria’s competitiveness internationally.” said the graduate of the University of Lagos
Speaking further, Mama Nigeria posited that the New Telegraph’s 2025 award is a testament to Olopade’s resolute commitment to transforming Nigerian sports and remarked that the football fans were in aesthetic jubilant mode.
