Pro- Wrestling Africa Celebrates Mothers Across Africa on Mother’s Day
Pro -Wrestling Africa (PWA), a continental body dedicated to the promotion, development, and organization of professional wrestling across the continent, has joined millions around the world in celebrating mothers and acknowledging their invaluable contributions to families, communities, and the development of sports across the African continent.
In a statement released to commemorate Mother’s Day, the Secretary General of the organization Amb. Olusesan Olukoya praised mothers for their enduring strength, sacrifices, and unwavering support that continue to shape the lives of athletes and young people across Africa.
The organization works to provide opportunities for African wrestlers while building partnerships with international wrestling promotions to expand the reach of the sport on the continent.
“Today, we celebrate the remarkable women who nurture, guide, and inspire future champions both inside and outside the wrestling ring,” he explained.
“Mothers play a vital role in the lives of our athletes by providing encouragement, discipline, and the emotional support that fuels success.”
“We at PWA also recognized the growing number of women participating directly in professional wrestling as athletes, trainers, and administrators, describing them as powerful role models for the next generation.
According to the professional wrestling ambassador and administrator, the celebration of Mother’s Day is an opportunity to reflect on the significant influence mothers have in building stronger families and communities, while also encouraging more women to take active roles in sports and youth development initiatives.
Pro Wrestling Africa through the secretary reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusiveness and empowerment within the sport, noting that women continue to play an essential role in the growth and future of professional wrestling across Africa.
He concluded by extending heartfelt appreciation to all mothers for their dedication, resilience, and contributions to society.
