NPFL : Igali Lauds Precious 3-points as Bayelsa United Show Fighting Spirit in Crucial Victory Over Warri Wolves

Bayelsa State Commissioner for Sports Development, Honourable Baraladei Daniel Igali, has congratulated Bayelsa United Football Club on their hard fought 2–1 victory over Warri Wolves in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League encounter.

The victory, secured through determination and resilience, has lifted the team away from the relegation zone and provided renewed confidence as the league enters its decisive final phase.

Hon. Igali commended the players and technical crew for their fighting spirit, particularly the character shown in the latter stages of the match. With the game tied at 1–1, Bayelsa United demonstrated composure and belief to score a well worked winning goal in the dying minutes of the encounter, a moment that reflected the hunger and commitment required at this stage of the competition.

The Commissioner, however, urged the team to remain focused and grounded. With eight matches still to play and only a narrow gap separating teams in the bottom half of the table, every point remains crucial.

“Today’s victory is a testament to the fighting spirit of this team. At this stage of the league, it is not only talent that matters, but discipline, determination, and the will to fight for every ball and every point,” Hon. Igali stated.

He expressed confidence that Bayelsa United possesses the quality not only to avoid relegation but to finish the season comfortably in mid table if the players maintain the same level of commitment.

The Ministry also appreciated the passionate supporters whose presence and encouragement helped drive the team to victory and called on fans to continue rallying behind the team in the remaining fixtures.

“With unity, discipline and the fighting spirit we witnessed today, Bayelsa United can finish this season strongly and proudly represent our dear state,” the Commissioner added.
