Lagos FA Cup kicks off Sunday, as Liameed Gafar promises exciting tournament

Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Liameed said that his board is out to organize a seamless competition this year, even as he announced that the kick off of the tournament will be on Sunday, March, 22, 2026 at the Inspire Stadium ( NITEL Ground), Oshodi.
He stated this Tuesday during the draws held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National, Stadium, Surulere, Lagos which attracted many football stakeholders and ex- internationals
According to the FA boss, they will ensure a level playing ground for all the teams, assuring that officiating will be top notch with an appeal to the teams not to do anything that will bring the tournament to disrepute.
” I want to assure Lagosians that we’re out to organize a seamless competition everyone will be proud of. It’s going to be fun filled, officiating will be top notch and I expect all the teams to play to the rules of the game, as we’re not going to tolerate any act of indiscipline”, he stressed.
Highlights of the draw was the unveiling of a brand new trophy molded in the form of Eyo Masquerade, showcasing the cultural heritage of Lagos State.
There was also a seminar for club media officers that preceded the draws.
Meanwhile Sunday fixtures indicates that Satecn FC will begin their quest for the Lagos FA Cup title dream against East Lane FA at the Inspire Stadium, Oshodi.
In the second match of the day Ikonnect FA will tackle Evolution Utd FC at the same venue at 10am. The third match slated for 12 noon, will see Osykay Int’l FC take on Oaklag FC, while Elite Stars FC will clash with OoA FA at 2pm
All the winners will progress into the next knockout stage.
On Monday, 23rd of March, Easy Inter Global FC will meet Awatown FC, Athletic SC 2022 will face Gemstones Int’l. Goalgetters FA and Budu Elites FA will faceoff, while Fire Crackers will clash with Roms FA.
All Monday’s fixture will be played at the Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle.
