Uzodimma felicitates with Muslims on Eid-el-Fitr

Governor Hope Uzodimma has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in Imo State in particular, and Nigeria at large as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.

The Eid-el-Fitr otherwise known as Ramadan (the festival of breaking of fast)

is celebrated annually by the global Muslim community during which time they pay much emphasis on sacrifice, prayer, love for one another, peace, and charity.

The Federal government of Nigeria, in recognition of this very important Islamic activity, had declared Thursday, March 19 and Friday, 20, 2026 as public holidays to enable the Muslim Ummah mark the successful completion of their one month fasting.

Governor Uzodimma in a statement on his social media handle prayed that the lessons of the Ramadan remain with Nigerians throughout the year.

Governor Uzodimma’s statement read in full: “I warmly felicitate with the Muslim Ummah in Imo State, and indeed across Nigeria, as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, the festival of breaking the fast.

“I commend our Muslim faithful for their steadfast dedication, discipline, and resilience throughout the holy month of Ramadan, marked by sacrifice, prayer, and charity.

“It is my pray that God will continue to guide and strengthen all in righteousness, grant enduring peace, prosperity, and unity in our society, and bless our nation with harmony and progress.

“May the lessons of Ramadan remain with us all year round.”
