Super Eagles Supporters Club: We are not at war with any other group -Okumagba

By George Aluo

Chairman of Super Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba has declared that the group he leads is not at war with any other body that supports the Eagles.

Okumagba who spoke early this week in Lagos noted that the country can have several groups that come together to galvanize support for the Eagles, insisting that the formation of different groups should not be a dividing factor.

“The more, the merrier…if we have say 20 different organized groups of 5000 people coming together to support the Eagles, all of them wearing the country’s green white green colors, don’t you think the stadium would be super charged for Eagles?”, Okumagba queried.

He noted that just few minutes before the interview he granted newstap.com.ng he received a call from Dr Rauf Ladipo (PG, Worldwide) of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC).

“If we had issues or any form of quarrel, Ladipo won’t be calling me. We spoke like brothers and I can tell you that we are not at war. We all have one goal, which is to support the Eagles,” Okumagba said.

The Super Eagles Supporters Club boss had last Saturday hosted some of his members to breakfast, even as they used the breakfast get together to perfect strategies on how to give the Eagles maximum support in the back to back games against Lesotho and Benin.

Okumagba who recently returned to the country from his Overseas trip said he is confident the Eagles would overrun their opponents.

He charged the NFF to liaise with the relevant health authorities to see how his group can be allowed into the stadium to cheer the Eagles to victory as the team makes a historic return to Lagos.
