Adeboye Hails Flying Eagles Over Senegal Victory, World Cup Ticket

Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has sent a huge congratulatory message to the Flying Eagles of Nigerian on their victory over arch rivals, Senegal in the ongoing AFCON U-20 taking place in Egypt.

Adeboye, who was full of praises for Coach Aliyu Zubairu and his team for making the country proud, said the team will continue to get maximum support in the AFCON tournament and also going into the world Cup proper in Chile.

The Presidential aide who has done a lot in terms of grassroots sports development in the country and Africa at large, is confident that the current U-20 coach will achieve greater things with this team.

“I am really happy with the victory over one of our biggest rivals in football. it’s a sweet victory for us because we have not only qualified for the semi-finals of the AFCON, we have also booked a world Cup ticket in Chile, which will further expose these young players and prepare them for future Super Eagles”, he said.

“I am truly impressed with coach, Aliyu Zubairu, for his achievements in the local league, and now at the international stage, it shows our local coaches are capable of doing a good job for our beloved nation”, he added.

“With the team, booking a world Cup ticket, it will further help this country to see and groom more young players for the future, and I want to assure the team that, they will get all the necessary support from the President to make sure they achieve more success in this AFCON and at the world Cup in Chile”, he concluded.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria, earlier today, booked a semi-final ticket in the ongoing U- 20 AFCON, in Egypt after beating hard fighting Senegal 3-1 on penalties after regulation and extra time ended 0-0.
With the result, the Flying Eagles has also booked a ticket for the U-20 world Cup in Chile.
