AFCON 2025 : De Legacy Sports Supporters Club Urge Nigerians To Pray For Super Eagles
With less than one week to the commencement of the 2025 AFCON finals to be hosted by Morocco, the leadership of De Legacy Sports Supporters Club have charged Nigerians both home and in the Diaspora to pray for the success of the Super Eagles in the biggest football showpiece in the African continent.
The 35th edition of the tournament will hold from Saturday, December 21, 2025- January, 18 , 2026 with Nigeria in Group C alongside North African giants, Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania and the club believes that the Super Eagles need prayers to succeed in the tournament.
In a statement by the club signed by it’s National President, Prince Obiyim Happy Ehiedu, the club noted that what the national team needs now is prayers to enable them overcome their disappointing exit from the World Cup playoffs and win the AFCON for the fourth time.
” My appeal to Nigerians both at home and abroad is to pray vehemently for the success of the Super Eagles in Morocco. I know that a lot of Nigerians are yet to come over our world cup qualification failure but this is the time to rally round the national team so that they will use the Nations Cup and compensate Nigerians for the World Cup playoffs disappointment”, he stressed.
According to him, members of his club will soon embark on a fasting and prayer session for the team before departing to Morocco to cheer them to victory.

Sports Supporters Club will be in Tunisia in our numbers to support the Super Eagles but before then, we’ll embark on a fasting and prayer session for the team because we believe that with prayers,nothing is impossible”, noted the President.
