AFCON: Lagos Legends Club Tips Super Eagles for Success

More encouraging words of support are pouring in for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, ahead of its titanic AFCON 2022 group opener against seven times winners, Egypt on Tuesday in Garoua, Cameroun.

The latest support came from a group of former elite footballers who plied their trades in Lagos, under the aegis of Lagos Legends Club (LLC).
In its message signed by Monday Kanu on behalf of the group, it urged the Super Eagles to be brave, courageous and confident in the renowned characteristics of the average Nigerian.
Kanu said,” This team has all the potentials to conquer Africa and the world, beginning with this championship in Cameroun.
On his part, the convener of LLC, ex-Nigeria international Waidi Akanni, stated, “All of us at Lagos Legends Club believe in the team and particularly, in the technical expertise of the highly experienced Coach Austin Eguavoen, who of course, also once played football in Lagos with ACB football club.”
Akanni, who was a former Lagos FA chairman went on to rally all football loving Nigerians to pray and support the team in their bids to bring glory and honour to the country.
