Afcon semi: Chikelue Iloenyosi wants Eagles to avoid South Africa

Anambra FA chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi has declared that he does not want the Super Eagles to face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the semi final of the on going Africa Cup of Nations.
The Eagles Friday night booked their passage into the last four after a 1-0 victory over Angola where they await the winner of the South Africa/ Cape Verde encounter to be decided tonight.
Iloenyosi while taking a look at the pairings said he would prefer the Eagles facing Cape Verde instead of South Africa for reasons outside of football.
He noted that Nigerians in South Africa may suffer persecution if the Eagles beat Bafana Bafana in the semi.
“I know Nigerians in South Africa will be the ones to suffer when we beat Bafana Bafana. So for me, I would prefer we avoid South Africa and face Cape Verde in the semi finals,” Iloenyosi said.
The Anambra FA boss said he is confident the Eagles would land in the final on Wednesday, even as he commended the players for rising to the occasion at a time not too many people believed they can get the job done.
Iloenyosi also drummed support for the Ibrahim Gusau led NFF board for remaining focused in the task of ensuring the Eagles DO IT AGAIN in Côte d’Ivoire.
