AFRICA YOUTH CUP HAILS GEORGE ALUO ON SWAN VETERAN JOURNALIST AWARD

The organisers of the Africa Youth Cup have congratulated Mr. George Aluo, Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL) and Media Director of the Africa Youth Cup, on his recognition as a Veteran Journalist Award recipient by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), as part of activities marking SWAN at 60.
In a statement issued by the tournament secretariat, the organisers described Mr. Aluo’s honour as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding contributions to sports journalism and football administration in Nigeria.
President of the Africa Youth Cup, Mr. Godson Abba Ekadi, in his congratulatory message, said:“Mr. George Aluo’s recognition by SWAN is a celebration of excellence, integrity, and decades of selfless service to sports journalism and football development.
“We are proud to have him as part of the Africa Youth Cup family, where his experience and professionalism continue to inspire our vision of promoting youth football across Africa.”
The statement further commended SWAN for recognizing distinguished veterans whose contributions have advanced sports reporting and football growth in Nigeria, wishing Mr. Aluo continued success in his dual roles.
He also seized the opportunity to commend the Sierra Leonan Government for the hosting of Africa’s flagship football academies tournament in 2026 with George Aluo as head of the media team and other journalists from Africa.
