Agege, one the most vibrant Local Government Area in Lagos state has open it’s door as the venue for the 5th Dynamite Opens Scrabble Tournament which is scheduled for April 18-19 this year.
The area, known for its rich base for talents in sports and entertainment and active youth population will be the centre of scrabble attraction as students, beginners and other opens players gain tournament experience on the number-and-word game.
Chairman Abdul-Ganiu Obasa will witness the first remarkable organised scrabble event as the No.1 indigene of the area.
Schools in the locality have been activated on the forthcoming event while the students have also shown enthusiasm of competing in the two-day competition.
In a related development, the organisers have declared open the registration process for this edition which closes on April 10.
Initiator Khaleel Adedeji stated that this edition aside the main event will parade additional competitions which will feature the Inter-Secondary Schools where students will participate in the Scrabble and Spelling Bee categories.
Registration is free for the school event.
He further revealed that a Celebrity Doubles event has been introduced as a side attraction.
Intending players with ratings from 0-1199 will register with a sum of 15,000 naira while female players and students are expected to make a payment of 10,000 naira and complete the process on www.dynamiteopens.com.
A star-prize of 300,000 naira will be won at the 18-round games tournament rated by the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF).
