Ahead of Elections: AIG Akande Kayode Perfects Strategies With Election Security Management Team

In furtherance of the Inspector’s General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), CFR, drive for safe, secured and credible general elections as well as ensure adequate security coverage before, during and after the 2023 general elections, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 11 Command, AIG Akande Sikiru Kayode, has held strategic management meeting with Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams psc (+). fdc, CP Election Oyo State CP Jesubiyi Taiwo and other senior Police officers that will be involved in the forthcoming presidential and National House of Assembly Election Security Management in Oyo State to strategies for the election.

Addressing the Officers during the Meeting, which inter alia, was aimed at putting finishing touches to the strategies being emplaced for the maintenance of law and order during the period of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, slated for Saturday, 25th February 2023, the AIG charged the Supervisory Officers to ensure that all the Command’s human, operational and intelligence assets at their disposal are maximally deployed towards the provision of adequate security and respect for fundamental human rights of the electorate and other authorized participants in the Elections.

He also ordered them to ensure that the Election flashpoints are adequately policed to forestall untoward occurrences, warning that lapses of any kind will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, the AIG maintained that the Police will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the Elections are conducted smoothly as expected, under an atmosphere of peace, security and safety of the citizenry. He, therefore, urges all and sundry in the State to remain vigilant, law-abiding and supportive as more personnel and logistics will be deployed from Zone 11 Command headquarters to support the command.
