Imo: Labour Party’s guber candidate, Amadi reveals why he is in the race

Having been a victim of insecurity and spurred by the level of insecurity bedeviling Imo State, Hon. Chinedu Amadi, the State  Frontline gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of Labour Party, LP says his mission, vision and ambition to governor the Eastern Heartland State was triggered with the patriotic passion of tackling the monster headlong and curbing it finally.

Amadi who hails from Ohuba village in Ubomiri ancient kingdom of Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State revealed this on Wednesday while addressing media executives in his ancestral compound on his preparedness for the party’s next Saturday, April 15th scheduled governorship primary.

The First Class material in Geology of Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) with Master’s Degree biases in Structural Geology of Litt University, U.S.A recalled the emotional and psychological trauma he under went last year at Nteje Army Checkpoint while going to visit his children in Marist College.

He lamented how people were forcefully asked to disembark from their cars and vehicles, and being subjected to raise their hands up while trekking to over 200 meters and the army men will be harassing, intimidating and threatening to kill them for unknown reason (s).

Amadi who x-rayed his intimidating profile and experiences  especially in capacity building, employment opportunities and agriculture expressed optimism in winning the political party’s ticket staking his pedigree and antecedents as the hallmark for his expected landslide victory.

The youthful politician expressed disappointment on how his kinsman, the elder brother of Mr. Chinedu Iheme, a popular Nollywood actor was murdered on 16th December,2022 in their Ubomiri community by unknown gun men and similarly,on the 31st of December,2022 while people were happy and busy planning to usher in the new year, the entire ancient community had no peace as hoodlums were shooting sporadically throughout the night that eventually led to the death of a young Medical Student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

According to him, “this has become what our land and State has turned into, land of terror. As am speaking with you and talking about governance, most of my friends and relations thinks am mad. They are just pitying me. They are of the views that I may not survive it.

” Imo State is presently being de-marketed. Imo is now known for all sorts of negative things. It has gotten to a point that you can no longer plan nor run activities the way it should and it works. Every day, businesses are shutting down in a State parading herself as glorious land of opportunities, relaxation, entertainment and hospitality.  Unfortunately, it have turned into a mess of criminal activities, menace of killings, cannibalism, raping, intimidations, harassment and all sorts of evil doings”.

The Governorship hopeful also observed that the State is zero when compared with  the indexes for business growth and development and the situations have even worsened due to her high rate of child mortality.

Amadi who said he believed so much in diversifications of the economy, attributed the insecurity problems to lack of good and visionary leadership which he guaranteed to provide if given the mandate.

He likened the state problem to that of tasking an inexperienced and ill equipped motor mechanic to repair a faulty car, the quack mechanic will spend hours trying to rectify the simple fault but to know avail however an expert with the right knowledge and technological equipments will just spend few minutes and achieve the needed results.

The astute politician noted that he feels challenged each time he sees people in leadership positions being incapacitated in solving simple problems of the masses.

The Scientist turned politician said if given the mandate that he will restore peace and order through institution of an inclusive and participatory governance.
