Alleged Embezzlement: Irete Youth President Ezichi, Impeached!

The president of Irete Youths Association (IYA), Owerri, Imo State, Mr. Ezichi Nshimole, has been impeached following allegations that he embezzled funds amounting to One Million, Eight Hundred and Six Thousand Naira (N1,806,000.00) belonging to the Irete Youths Association.
The impeachment letter which was made available to the members of the public by the Executive Body of the Irete Youths Association (IYA), reads…
“TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Impeachment of the Suspended President of the Irete Youths Association (IYA), Mr. Ezichi Nshimole and The Conduct of Elections Within 30 Days
We the elected Executive Members of the Irete Youths Association (IYA), after receiving the Report & Recommendations of the Investigation Panel of the Irete Community Development Union (ICDU), in response to our petition demanding for investigation of the IYA President, Mr. Ezichi Nshimole bordering on Embezzlement, Abuse of Power and Violation of the IYA Constitution, hence he was suspended while the investigation was on, do hereby take our decision guided by the IYA Constitution in Article 18 and also putting into action the recommendation of the Investigation Panel by impeaching/removing the IYA President Mr Ezichi Nshimole from the office of the President of the Irete Youths Association (IYA) after he has been found guilty of embezzling the sum of One Million, Eight Hundred And Six Thousand Naira (N1,806,000.00), which he shall refund the Irete Youths Association (IYA) within 30 days from the date the Report & Recommendations of the Investigation Panel was published
In addition, the IYA Constitution in Article 18b, states there will be a bye-election, hence there shall be a bye-election for the position of the (1) IYA President, and other vacant elective positions of the IYA: (2) Internal Auditor (3) Disciplinary Officer.
The elections will hold within 30 days from the date of this letter and further necessary information will be announced thereafter.”
The impeachment letter was signed by all the Executive Members of the Irete Youths Association and backed up with the signatures of the 18 Villages IYA Youths Chairmen and Secretaries in Irete Autonomous Community.
