Golden Boy plans wrestling seminar in Cameroon

American sensational wrestler,Jim McDowell popularly known as ‘Golden Boy’ who is planning a mega fight in Cameroon has announced that he will be organising a wrestling seminar in the Central African country on Friday, July, 20 ahead of his fight with Animal’ Alain Tazo of Cameroon.
The fight which will be his first on African soil is being put together by Golden Wrestling Federation ( GWF) in conjunction with Cameroon Wrestling Federation ( FECACATCH) and Pro- Wrestling Africa (PWA) and will hold at the Palaise de Sports, Yaoundé, Cameroon on Saturday 22nd July, 2023 by 4pm.
Other Cameroonian talents that will feature at the international championship are; El Kass, Moustapha Zouberu, Kirikou, Le Tigre, Bienvenue, Mbunga, Black Tiger, Valdess and Arc en ciel.
Giving details of the fight, Secretary General of Pro- Wrestling Africa (PWA), Sesan Olukoya said that the Florida born mats man has agreed to hold a seminar prior to the fight where he will lecture African wrestlers about the non technical aspect of professional wrestling such as; personal dressing, attire, behavioural attitude, development of character, conduct on and off the ring and many other things that will make one a better fighter.
“Pro- Wrestling Africa ( PWA) want to use the opportunity offered by the coming of Florida, USA based ‘Golden Boy’ to the African continent to keep our fighters abreast of what is expected of them to do in and off the ring.
“Golden Boy has graciously accepted to organize a seminar where he will lecture both old and upcoming mats men including stakeholders of the sports, professional wrestlers, trainers, trainees, managers, referees, bookers and promoters on behavioural attitude, character development, mode of dressing, attire and all other things that’s required of them to become not only good wrestlers but champions in their various weight categories.
“The seminar is to ensure that those active in professional wrestling share their knowledge over the years on the grunt and gran sport with their colleagues. It’s also to promote professional wrestling trainings, knowledge, camps, tryouts, clinics, and all the learning technics in the sports and he’s expected to answer questions such as; importance of wrestling, what benefits can be gained from wrestling, what does the sport of wrestling teach us and what’s the most important part of the sports and many more.
He further explained that in professional wrestling, special seminars have become increasingly popular over the last 20 years mostly in the USA and gaining ground around the world positing that it accounts for why the upcoming seminar is important and will be beneficial to all wrestlers just as he stated that he’s organising the seminar free of charge.
Giving insight into the seminar, Golden Boy who is a seasoned trainer and seminar organizer noted that People idolize Pro- wrestlers and see them as their heroes and as such wrestlers do not need to dress like the masses saying; that there is need for them to cut a niche for themselves, dress like professionals, live and act above board and respect the idol/hero worship which the fans give them.
Olukoya while announcing that ‘Golden Boy’ has promised to issue certificate of participation to all those that attends the seminar commended the
National President of the Cameroon Pro Wrestling Federation (FECACATCH) and the 1st Vice President of Pro Wrestling Africa (PWA), Commodore Emmanuel Ndo. for ensuring that the much talked about “Battleground 2023” event tagged America versus Cameroon sees the light of the day as it will help greatly in developing the sports in Africa.
