Ahead 2022 AFCON: NFF boss thumbs up Dare

President of the nation’s soccer governing body, NFF, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has given a pat on the back to Sports Minister, Sunday Dare.
Amaju who spoke on Wednesday in Lagos said Dare has been very supportive ahead of the Nations Cup early next year in Cameroon.
He noted that the sports minister has created a very conducive atmosphere that has enabled the NFF to operate without any difficulty.
He pointed out that the conducive environment has seen the NFF attract new sponsorship deals that would make the Glass House become financially independent.
“The sports minister, Sunday Dare has been wonderful. He has supported us very well, given us the needed protection and called us to order when there is need for it. He has played his supervisory role very well. Under him, we have had a very conducive atmosphere to run football unlike what it was before his coming. You can see that with him giving us the needed support, we have been able to attract new sponsors. My vision has always been to make the NFF financially independent. This year, we only received 11 percent of our funds from government and we are in the weeks ahead going to publish our audited financial report,” Amaju said.
Amaju further disclosed that he would next year, with FIFA’s backing embark on the ambitious project of constructing a Football Technical Center in Abuja that would have state of the art facilities.
