Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Chikelue Iloenyosi has commended the leadership of Nigeria National League ( NNL) for the innovations they’ve brought to the second tier league since they came on board
He made the commendation Saturday shortly after watching the local derby between two Lagos sides, Smart City and 1472 which was played at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena. ( Onikan Lagos)
According to him, the away victories and draws recorded in the first stanza and the ones recorded so far in the second stanza that commenced last Friday is an indication that the league is improving and the match officials doing their job well.
” I’m highly impressed with what I saw today. The officiating was good which enabled us to enjoy good football and Kudos must go to Mr. George Aluo led board for the innovations they’ve brought to the league.
” It’s equally important I commend the league board for the number of away wins and draws recorded in the first stanza. And just last Friday, in Match Day 1 of the second stanza, Sporting Supreme got the maximum points in Adamawa while Gateway got a draw in Awka which shows that’s is no longer business as usual and that the league is growing”, noted the former Super Eagles defender.

Iloenyosi however charged the George Aluo led NNL to continue with their reform process in order to make the league more competitive and attractive.
” My advise to the NNL board is to maintain the momentum. They’re doing a great job and I want them to continue on that page because it’s good for the growth of the game”, he concluded.
