Anikoh Emerges As NOGIG 2026 Scrabble Champion
It was a moment of great celebration in the history of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Games (NOGIG) as Samuel Anikoh became the new winner as he won gold in the male single’ scrabble event on Friday.
Anikoh, who represented Seplat Energy at the 19th edition of the Games, rose to the peak of the log at the end of the King Of the Hill (KOTH) when he recorded 14 wins, 3 defeats with +1826 cumulative points.
His closest rival Okiemute Desmond of NCDMB concluded the competition with 13 wins, 4 defeats with a cumulative of +1467 points to win silver while Jack Mpakaboari of Renaissance claimed the bronze with 13 wins, 4 defeats and +860 cumulative points.
27 players participated at the mind game event.
Anikoh has been impressive at different competitions organised by the Lekki Scrabble Club where he sits as it’s President.
His victory has earned the confidence of bookmakers who had picked him as one of the favourite to win the Games’ gold medal.
The biennial Games held at the M.K.O Stadium, Abuja featured a total of 13 companies from the oil and gas sector.
