Ardova Handball Premier League 2024: Niger United Leapfrog Rima Strikers to 2nd, Tojemarine wins Lagos Battle

In an all rest day for the Female teams participating in the Ardova Handball Premier League Phase 2 in Lagos, the Male teams light up the Rowe Park Arena Yaba with mouthwatering Handball games. 

The day started with former champions Safety Shooters defeating Sunshine Kings of Akure 32-26 goals before another Abuja based team Correction Boys scaled up Adamawa United to their 4th defeat of the 2nd phase ending the game at 34-28.

Defending Champions  Niger United chasing Rima Strikers of Sokoto to 2nd place came all out from the blast of the first whistle blew away Benue Buffaloes 34-20 in the North Central derby. 

Rima Strikers of Sokoto pulled up a surprising result against former champions Kano Pillars in another fascinating game of the day 4 scoring 31 goals to the Sai Masu Gida 25 goals. 

When the battle of supremacy of Lagos state came up between Lagos Seasiders taking up Tojemarine Academy,  the frenzy of the Rowe Park as both teams battled down for goals only for Tojemarine Academy to outshine Lagos Seasiders to 31-19 goals to maintain their unbeaten run to 15 games this season.

With the results, Tojemarine Academy still maintain top spot with Niger United moving to second spot with only a  two goal difference with both them and Rima Strikers having the same number of points.

With ‘Rest Day’ for the Male teams tomorrow, the Female teams games will return to the  National Institute of Sports indoor sports hall as Bendel Dynamos will battle Imo Grasshoppers in the first game of the day before Seasiders Babes will face Delta Queens. 
Other matches will see Defending Champions and Unbeaten so far this season Safety Babes engage COAS Babes, Plateau Peacocks faces Defenders Babes and then Rivers Queens of Portharcourt battle Rima Queens of Sokoto for the last game of the day.

MALE:

1) Safety Shooters–Sunshine Kings 32–26.

2) Adamawa Warriors–Correction Boys 28–34.

3) Benue Buffaloes–Niger United 20–34.

3) D:Defenders–Confluence Stars 10–00 (W/O) 

4) Kano Pillars–Rima Strikers  25–31.

5) Lagos Seasiders–Tojemarine Academy  19–31.
