AUSC Region 2 Signs Partnership Agreement with ASKY Airlines as Official Airline Partner for the 2026 AUSC Region 2 Games

The African Union Sports Council Region 2 (AUSC Region 2) is pleased to announce a strategic partnership agreement with ASKY Airlines, designating the airline as the Official
Airline Partner for the upcoming AUSC Region 2 Games 2026 scheduled to take place in Banjul, The Gambia, from 7–13 June 2026.

The collaboration between the leadership of AUSC Region 2 and ASKY Airlines, represents a significant step in strengthening collaboration between the sports sector and the aviation industry in West Africa.

Through this partnership, ASKY Airlines will provide travel support and logistical assistance to participating teams, officials, and stakeholders attending the regional sporting event.

The AUSC Region 2 Games serve as a premier multi-sport event bringing together athletes from member states across West Africa to promote youth development, regional integration, and sporting excellence. The partnership with ASKY Airlines will greatly enhance the efficient movement of athletes and delegations across the region, ensuring the successful delivery of the Games.

Speaking on the partnership, Chair for AUSC Region 2 Conference of Malam Shehu Dikko, highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in delivering world-class regional sporting events.

The organization noted that ASKY Airlines’ extensive network across Africa
makes it an ideal partner in facilitating travel and strengthening connectivity among participating nations.

“This partnership with ASKY Airlines represents a major milestone in our preparations for the AUSC Region 2 Games. Reliable air connectivity is essential for the successful hosting of a regional event of this magnitude. We are delighted to welcome ASKY Airlines as the Official Airline Partner for the Games in The Gambia.”

The management of ASKY Airlines also expressed pride in supporting the development of sports in the region and contributing to an event that promotes unity, youth empowerment, and regional cooperation.

The AUSC Region 2 Games will bring together athletes, officials, and sports enthusiasts from across West Africa in a week-long celebration of sport, culture, and friendship. The Games are expected to showcase emerging athletic talent while strengthening the bonds of solidarity among participating countries.

The Chair for AUSC Region 2 Committee of Experts and Director General National Sports Commission Nigeria – Hon Adebukola Olopade, extended the appreciation of AUSC to ASKY Airlines for its commitment to supporting sports development and regional integration through this partnership.
