AWUJALE, ORIMOLUSI APPROVES OBA ELECT OF ODOALAMO, PRINCE ADELAJA ADENUGA

The Awujale of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona (GCON) and the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba Adedeji Adebajo, Ojuromi IV have both approved the endorsement of the Oba Elect of Odoalamo in Ijebuland, Prince Dr. Adelaja Adenuga.
Adelaja the Oba elect who was recognized by the Awujale sometimes ago when the Ijebu Igbo stakeholders presented his candidacy to the Awujale as Oba Odoalamo elect, which Awujale approved.
Adelaja who holds the Awujale in high esteem as the number one king in Ijebuland who symbolizes culture and tradition as kings and monarchs are frequently the embodiment of a society’s history, values, and customs representing the continuity of Ijebu culture, often serving as a visible link to the past and a guardian of its heritage.
Oba Orimolusi during the celebration of Ileya festival 2025 at the Ijebu Igbo Ojude Oba poured overwhelming prayers and blessings on the Odoalamo king to be thus reinforcing his strong bond with the cultural and traditional framework of Ijebuland.
Orimolusi of ijebu igbo has conveyed the approval of Dr. Adenuga as the oba elect for the Odoralamo kingdom according to the referred monarch the candidacy of Dr Adenuga as the Oba of Odoralamo has received royal blessing and approval by the highest authority in ijebu kingdom.
Before now, Oba elect, Prince Adelaja Adenuga has been supporting numerous ceremonies, programs and projects that evolves traditions and community development with generous donations.
His presence is also well felt through his Adelaja Adenuga Foundation (AAF), a community based non governmental organization saddled with numerous community development programmes and projects on the need to promote the cultural heritage of the Ijebuland; foster and promote unity and good relationship among the community youths and members.
The Foundation also campaigns against drug use, abuse, cultism, indecent dressing and all forms of social vices among secondary school students as well as encourage peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding and harmonious living together at the community level, all in an effort to empower the youths and make them responsible, citizens.
His enduring dedication to community and tradition growth, development, advancement and cultural respect of over the years can never be over emphasized.
Dr. (Prince) Adelaja Adenuga who has the believe that there is nothing as good and important as giving back to one’s community mostly at the end of the year, especially during festive period when people are feasting and celebrating, dualized the road from Idofe to Odosapo Jinloye in December 2021.
The Oba elect also gave out free food stuffs to the elderly ones in December 2021 at the Oru Town hall, Oru, held through the Foundation’s free medical services to Abigi community people in December 2022 and also stretched out arms of support to indigenous people of Imope and four other communities in Ijebu North, with free medical tests in December 2023.
His Foundation has organized free medical programs with giveaway gift items for the elderly people at Oru, Abigi, Ilaporu, Awa and Ibakan respectively over time.
To crown the efforts, the Foundation had over 30 people on their scholarship list from Ijebu North and Ijebu waterside communities in Ijebuland with hope to do more with time as the scholarship is an ongoing scheme to be extended to other ijebu communities with time.
