Former Eagles star, Agali lights up Carl Academy

By George Aluo, who was in Umuahia

Monday, July 12 was a special day for the students of Carl Academy and Football College, Umuahia, thanks to the surprise visit of former Super Eagles forward Victor Okechukwu Agali.

Proprietor of the College, Pastor Emeka Inyama in his usual way of giving staff and students a surprise package breezed into campus with Agali and thereafter introduced the soccer legends to them.

Agali who laced boots for several European clubs including Olympic Marseille and Schalke 04 thumbed up Carl Academy  as one of the best football college he has been to.

Agali described the Academy project as overwhelming and heartwarming and commended it’s world class structures and equipments.

Agali stressed that he lacked words to describe it.  The Ex international went ahead to have a one hour session in mentoring class with the students and encouraged them to be disciplined, focused and determined to make the best of the opportunity which people like him never had.

He told the students that many of the Nigerian star players never had the opportunity of the basics being provided for them by Carl Academy and Football College.  He wished them well and said that he looks foward to see many of them become future stars.

Inyama on his part told newstap.com.ng that he would in the weeks and months ahead drag other Nigerian soccer legends to the pace setting College.
