Bayelsa House Committee on Sports Chairman felicitates Nigerians on 65th Independence anniversary

The Chairman of Bayelsa State House of Assembly Committee on Sports Hon.Barr.Tare Porri has congratulated Nigerians on the 65th anniversary of the country’s independence.

Nigeria on October 1, 1960 gained Independence from her former colonial master,, Britain and will today ( Wednesday) celebrate 65 years of nationhood.

In his congratulatory message, Hon. Porri, member representing Ekeremor Constituency 1 in the state House of Assembly urged Nigerians to remain resolute in their commitment to a more united, egalitarian, inclusive and prosperous nation.

“Nigeria has come a long way in its journey to nationhood with surmountable challenges in its pathways.

“But at 65, the country has grown in leaps and bounds, and has remained united against all odds.

“I want to use the occasion of this year’s anniversary to remind Nigerians of the need to be patriotic and believe in the country.

“They should also imbibe the spirit of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and always pray for the peace and progress of the nation”, concludes his statement.

“On behalf of myself and my family, I heartily rejoice and felicitate Nigerians at home and in diaspora on the commemoration of the 65th Independence Anniversary of our dear country” concludes the statement
