Liverpool wins Old and Reliable Tourney

Team Liverpool last Sunday, at the Ilupeju Secondary School football pitch, became the winners of the 13th edition of Ilupeju Allstars Old & Reliable football tournament.

The final match which was witnessed by dignitaries and ex-Nigeria internationals including Edema Benson, Wasiu Ipaye and Waidi Akanni, was a keenly contested affair between Team West Ham and Team Liverpool.

And with scoreline at 1-1 after full time, Liverpool eventually triumped 5-4 on penalties to win the giant trophy, as well as, automatic qualification to next year’s Champions League Competition, alongside finalist West Ham.

Earlier in the day, Team Chelsea had defeated TeamTottenham 3-2 in the third place match.

Six teams including Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and West Ham participated in this year’s Old and  Reliable soccer tournament.
