Birmingham 2022: KFN begs Uzodimma for sponsorship of Imo athlete

The nation’s Karate governing body, KFN has made a sponsorship plea to Imo state Governor, Hope Uzodimma ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The karate body wants Uzodimma to bankroll the trip of Emmanuel Idimogu, an Imo state born para athlete.
KFN in a release stated…”The board of the karate federation of Nigeria has nominated Idimogu Emmanuel as the state representative in wheel chair K30 make category at recently concluded national para sports festival in Abuja . Among the athletes to represent Nigeria in the 10th commonwealth tournament scheduled for Birmingham England in September this year . The secretary of the federation MR meikano Adamu who announced this in a press release, recalled that Idimogu Emmanuel emerged the best athlete in the 1st para national para sports festival held in Abuja in April , where the IMO state para karate team took the first overall position with one gold medal for the first time in the history of para karate in the wheel chair K30 para karate won by him as well as one silver medal .
The karate federation is therefore appealing to the state Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma to assist in sponsoring Idimogu Emmanuel , the first gold medalist in Nigeria to the commonwealth championship , assuring him of the cooperation of its president MR Silas Agara and the board members of the federation.”
