Burial of Lolo Gladys Onwukwe holds on Tuesday 30th December

All is now set for the burial of Lolo Gladys Onwukwe Ofoji (Nee Onugha) aged 75 years, the mother of Prince David Ikechukwu Onwukwe, (Udumiri Ndigbo) and the Managing Director of Udumiri Industries LTD.
According to a press statement endorsed by Nze Ositadimma Onwukwe, the Head of Onwukwe Ofoji dynasty in Umuokwaraji Ishi Ogwa autonomous community in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, the burial rites will commence on Monday 29th December, 2025 by 6 pm with service of songs at her late husband, Nze Bon Onwukwe (Opara Ukwu) ancestral compound in Umuokwaraji-Osuocha Amaasha Idem Ogwa.
Thus, on Tuesday 30th December, 2025 after lying in state by 9 am at her husband’s ancestral compound, a funeral service on her behalf will be celebrated by 10 am at St Mark’s Anglican Church, Idem Ogwa and interment follows immediately at her husband’s ancestral compound.
Recall that the deceased is an illustrious daughter of late Lolo Beatrice Agbogho Onugha and Mazi Augustine Ubowuruogu Onugha of Umuduruemeru Uru Ogwa in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
She lived an examplary life as a philanthropist, community leader and member of so many christian associations within Anglican Communion, and Ogwa Anunu Umu Mgbe ancient clan.
Her commitments in serving her God in truth and spirit was legendary even as an apostle of social justice, a role model, an epitome of beauty and elegance.
It’s pertinent to remember that her contributions in the development of Idem Ogwa community and Anglican Church Nigeria are enormous and well appreciated.
She’s survived by her children; Mrs. Eucharia Chiwendu Onwuelezi, Nze Osita Michael Onwukwe, Ms. Scholastica Obiageri Onwukwe,
Mr. Uzogo Chikadibia Onwukwe, Mrs. Chidinma Gladys Nkem and High Chief Ikechukwu David Onwukwe
Others include her only biologically surviving sister, Ms. Bridget Onugha together with close relations, in-laws, grand children, friends and well wishers too numerous to mentioned.
