2022 Igwe Nnewi Cup: Nigeria Pillar Of Sports Put Up N1.1m prize money

As plans for the 2022 edition of the Igwe Nnewi U-20 football competition have reached advanced stages, Nigeria Pillar Of Sports, High Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike, JP, who is the sponsor, of this year’s edition, has revealed a mouth-watering prize money package of N1.1m for the top four teams in the competition.
The competition which is packaged by the Anambra State chapter of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria( YSFON), would have 24 teams jostling for the trophy and the attractive prize money.
In the words of the sponsor, Agu-Ejidike, the championship is one of the several youth sports competitions in the sponsorship plans of the Office of Nigeria Pillar Of Sports, for this year.
” We’re not relenting on our parts to ensure we positively impact lives of Nigerians, particularly, the youths of Nigeria. God willing, the Igwe Nnewi U-20 football competition is one of the several youth sports competitions in our plans,” he stated.
The renowned successful businessman and sport philanthropist went on to admonish well placed individuals and corporate organisations to join the fray, and help the restive youth rechannel their energies positively, for the benefits of the society.
The eargely-awaited youth football championship which is slated for February 26- April 17, offers the first four teams N500,000, N300,000, N200,000 and N100,000 respectively.
